Booster Blade is a fast-paced retro action game where you can’t stop moving! The game’s hero, Archie, is burdened with wielding a giant sword that pulls him forward in the direction it’s pointing. In order to get through the game’s gauntlet of challenging stages (and save the world) players must master an unorthodox–but straightforward–control scheme.
Booster Blade was quite the undertaking. As both my senior capstone team’s design lead and sole programmer, I held a lot of responsibility, both for coordinating the project, and putting it together in-engine. But I was able to use my previous experience to smooth things along. It was immensely rewarding to guide this project all the way until release.
I also somehow found time to write the game’s soundtrack.
