Music

I’ve been working in FL Studio for over 3 years, creating a wide variety of original compositions as well as the occasional remix. When working on games, I often prefer to write my own music, and tend to upload it to my Youtube Channel. Here are some samples of my best work:

Music for Games

Ninety Degree Headache (Sideways)

A track with a solid driving beat, encouraging you to face the mind-bending puzzles that lie in wait ahead. A puzzle game like Sideways needed background music with enough energy to keep the player moving without being a distraction, and I think I struck a good balance.

Empty Town (ROAD TRIP)

A departure from my usual fare, this ambient track plays as the player explores the quiet, desolate town of Freverce. I wanted to capture the feeling of a place frozen in time. The distant murmur of wind and traffic paints the picture of a bustling town that has mysteriously faded away, leaving behind only crystalized reminders of what it once was.

Other Compositions

These songs may not have appeared directly in my games, but I think they’re strong examples of my skill as a composer.

Ablaze

A battle theme that starts off eerily peaceful before ramping up and reaching an explosive, emotional catharsis, eventually simmering out once more. I was inspired by the overwhelmingly beautiful, disastrous nature of forest fires, and the duality between destruction and creation those events tend to symbolize.

Fighting for Reasons

A lightning-fast boss theme which wears its retro influences on its sleeve. Taking a minimalistic approach to my instruments allowed me to craft a fun, rebellious-sounding melody that never sits still. I’m particularly fond of the showtune-like chorus at the end.

Post Apocalypse

Written for a scrapped game project called POSTHASTE, this stage traversal theme refuses to drop in energy even once, maintaining a swift, confident pace. The streets of Blue Cable were to be filled with many exciting dangers to overcome, but also an atmosphere of quiet desolation. That sense of “melancholic purpose” permeates my work, including the project’s eventual successor, End Transmission.

Dreamcatcher

When you write so many fast-paced boss themes, it’s easy to forget the merits of slower pieces, too. Even for one of my lower-energy pieces, Dreamcatcher radiates a unique feeling of dramatic spectacle, with a lot of different instruments and tones flowing together in elegant ways. Despite being one of my older tracks, I think it’s still one of my best-produced songs, and a sign that I’m capable of branching out and exploring different musical ideas.
